Why laptop import banned in India

A portion of personal computers or laptops in India come from Chinese manufacturing. Due to the new rule, the government decide to shift all gadgets to India. Due to this, the price of devices is reduced. So the companies decide that people need to apply for special permits to bring laptops to India. Thus, it promotes domestic production. This promotion is done under the PLI scheme, a production-linked incentive for IT hardware. The last date to apply for this scheme is 30 August.
