Surat Diamond Bourse – PM Modi inaugurated the world’s Largest corporate office today

On Sunday today, PM Modi inaugurated the Surat Diamond Bourse in Gujarat, which is the largest office building in the world. In a statement, PM Modi said that Surat Diamond Bourse will be the most significant and modern center in India for the International jewelry and diamond business. The building will become a global center for the trading of both polished and rough diamonds and jewelry, the statement said.

Inauguration of Surat Diamond Bourse

PM Modi inaugurated the Surat Diamond Bourse today after the inauguration of the new terminal building at Surat Airport. It was constructed to handle 600 international passengers and 1200 domestic passengers during peak hours and give them provision. It increases the peak hour capacity to 3000 passengers with an annual capacity to handle 55 lakh passengers. The world’s largest building, Surat Diamond Bourse, has over 67 lakh square feet of floor area and is situated at Khajod Village near to Surat City. It makes it a global center for trading both polished and rough diamonds and jewelry.

Surat Diamond Bourse will refer to state-of-the-art customs clearance houses for export and import. It is a jewelry mall for the facility of international banking, jewelry business, and safe vaults. Many diamond traders, including in Mumbai, have taken possession of their office in this building; even its inauguration has been done today. Plot details of Surat Diamond Bourse building

The building construction started in February 2015 and was completed in 2022. It is built at Rs 3 500 crore costs. The Surat diamond bourse building spans 67 square feet of floor space and has the capacity to house around 4,500 diamond trading offices.

This megastructure building is built on a 35.54-acre plot and has nine ground towers with 15 floors, with office space lying from 300 sq ft to 1 lakh sq ft. The nine rectangular towers are connected by a central spine. This building has a platinum rank from IGBC, Indian Green Building Council. The billionaire trader Vallabhbhai Lakhani, the Kiran gems director, has shifted to a Rs 17 000 crore business to Diamond Bourse and developed a mini township to house their employees.
