When is National Space Day celebrated? To mark the success of the Chandrayaan-3, India celebrated National Space Day on 23 August, said PM Modi on Saturday. To commemorate the Chandrayaan-3 lander success, PM Modi announced that the place of landing of the Vikram lander was called Shivshakti. PM Modi announced that the name of the place will address ISRO scientists at the ISRO telemetry tracking and command network mission control complex in Bangalore.

However, he also announced the name of the place of the landing crash of chandrayaan-2 as Tiranga Point. He said the Chandrayaan-2 left its footprint in 2019 on the lunar surface. Further, PM Modi said it is our National pride on the Moon. Our India is today Bold and Brave India that became by the Chandrayaan-3 success.

Chandrayaan-3 successful landing called Shivshakti

He appreciated the efforts of ISRO women scientists for the successful space mission and landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the surface of the Moon and said that the point on the surface of the Moon where the Chandrayaan-3 lands is called Shivshakti. Women scientists play an important role in Chandrayaan-3. Shivshakti inspires the upcoming generations to use science for people’s welfare. He visited Bengaluru immediately after returning from two national visits to South Africa and Greece. He accorded a warm reception when he reached ISRO headquarters on Saturday morning in Bengaluru.

Then, he met a team of scientists with ISRO, an Indian space research organisation involved in the moon mission. PM Modi joined the team of ISRO scientists to witness the historical Vikram lander landing on the Moon from South Africa. At that time, he attended the 15th BRICS Summit.

PM Modi is welcomed by the ISRO chairman, S Somanath, personally. They both greet each other with a hug; that was more of a celebration of this successful lunar landing on the Moon. He also posed in a group photo with scientists of ISRO who were involved in this project. Then, he gets the briefing of the 40-day journey to the south pole of the lunar by S Somanath M Mja.
