The president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, conferred the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 June. He conferred PM Modi with the country’s highest state Honour award, “Order of the Nile.”
The “order of the Nile” was Instituted in 1915 and conferred on the head of state, crown princes and vice presidents who provided humanity Egypt invaluable services. It is considered the 13th highest state honour that several countries conferred on PM Narendra Modi.
What is “Order of the Nile”
The ‘Order of the Nile‘ is referred to the pure gold collar that consists of three-square gold units and embraces the Pharaonic symbols.
- The first unit represents the idea of protecting states against the corrupt.
- The second unit represents the happiness and prosperity that brings by the Nile.
- The third unit represents endurance and wealth. All these three units of the “order of the Nile” are connected to each other by the circular gold flower decorated with ruby and turquoise.
- In between the pendant, there is a protruding symbol that shows the Nile that brings the south and north direction together.

When PM Narendra Modi arrived in Egypt
PM Modi arrived in Egypt on 24 June after completing his visit to the United States. On this day, the India PM met with the Egypt PM, Mostafa Madbouly, and decided to lead the unit. They scheduled the meeting of high-level Ministers and made efforts to improve the relationship between both countries.
