ISRO made all preparations to launch the third exploration lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, on Friday. The mission set the aim to land on the Moon and find the surface. The ISRO Indian Space Research Organisation is poised to make history again and launch the third lunar exploration mission, named Chandrayaan-3. It is launched at 2:35 pm from the Satish Dhawan Space Station in Sriharikota on Friday.
What is Chandrayaan 3 Mission
The Chandrayaan 3 mission set aims to achieve what their predecessor could not — softly land on the lunar exploration surface and explore with the rover. After launching its orbit around the Earth at 179 km altitude, the spacecraft increased its orbit gradually in series. It is due to the escape of the Earth’s gravity towards the Moon.
Timeline of Chandryaan-3 mission
Launch – Chandryaan 3 is set to launch today at 2:35 pm. The launch window of this mission is extended till 19 July.
2xS200 Ignition – The ignition of rocket engines is set at 0 seconds.
PLF Separation – Payload fairing is set to separate around 195 seconds.
L110 Separation – The separation of L110 engines is set at 306 seconds.
L110 Ignition – The ignition of L110 engines is set at 108 seconds.
2xS200 Separation – Two side boosters detach around 127 seconds.
C25 Ignition – The ignition of the C25 engine is set at 308 seconds.
C25 Shut-off – C25 engine is scheduled to shut down at 954 seconds.
Satellite Separation – The separation of the satellite from the rocket is set at 969 seconds.
Voyage to the Moon – The module travel from a month to reach a month after the time when it launched.
Moon landing – The landing is planned for 23- 24 August, but this change is on the basis of the Moon’s sunrise. If there is any delay occurs, ISRO will schedule the landing again in September.
Lander and rover mission life – The rover and lander are designed well for only one lunar day because they are not able to deal with extreme cold at night. So, they need to land at dawn to increase operational time.

Why the moon landing is a Nightmare
There is a need to land on the Moon in nightwear because multiple high-tech systems need to align properly and function together as a well-oiled machine. It consists the pinpoint navigation, clear terrain imagery, accurate flight dynamics, timed thruster firings, etc. These things make the ability to decelerate the Moon at the right speed and right time to reach the landing spot.
Wait is over- Spacecraft lifts off from Sriharikota
Now the wait is over; the heavy-lift launch vehicle lifts off from satish dhawan space center successfully in Andhra Pradesh Sriharrikota according to the schedule set.
The journey starts from Earth to the Moon spacecraft is around a month, and the landing is supposed to be on 23 August. During landing, it operates for one lunar day, that is, around 14 earth days. A day on the Moon is the same as 14 days on Earth. Chandrayaan-3, the third lunar exploration mission of India, makes India the 4th country after US, Russia, and China.
