Dream of Alankrita Sahai along with Rajinder Khosa, Gursher Singh Badal and Aashna Vinod Gupta, and many other famous known names, the horse show presented as a very successful event
The story begins with people who love horse riding and curiosity, bringing the revolutionary “Chandigarh Horse Show” (CHS) in ‘The Ranch’ in Mullanpur.
In an interview, the dreamer of the Chandigarh Horse Show, Alankrita Sahai, says that she had come to this city Chandigarh for her personal and professional businesses. However, she fell in love with Chandigarh, and that’s why she decided to give something to this city, which provides her with lots of love and joy in return. She had always dreamt of something big like this show.
There were more than 150 horses in the show, and with that massive number of horses, there were also 21 different types of events for all three days; during this show, there were also local vendors with their food stalls, arts, and crafts exhibitions to attract tourists and income.
Saying it a carnival addresses the media, Alankrtia wants to make it more authentic and famous in this digital era; she wants youth to be championed as this carnival is for champions.
The participants of the Chandigarh horse riding shows were very excited for this carnival more than their previous participating events like the Delhi horse show and others. Some riders will also take part in the upcoming horse riding events in India.
Let us turn up the pages of the history of horse rides in Chandigarh; the central part of this event is Chandigarh Horse Riders Society (CHRS). CHRS is the most prestigious riding club in India, it was established in 2003, and it has a large community with all age groups. Mainly participants in CHS are from CHRS. CHRS is very famous in North India.
Chandigarh SSP Kuldeep Chahal manages the show, and the show is all regulated and maintained by them. The show is all regulated and hosted with all the rules and regulations of the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI).
Gursher Dhillon, the Chief Coordinator at The Ranch, said that he and all the team aim to promote equestrian sports among people, especially among youngsters and people from remote areas all around India. He also mentioned that Horse riding is not very famous in India like in western countries, whereas our history is full of horse riders. He also said that, like western countries, Horse riding still needs to be promoted in India.
Indian history is full of the warrior, and there was a rich history about horse riders too, but today’s youth is not promoting and not even taking care of such things; this is a digital age globe just on the fingertips of people, so people rarely care about culture, history, tradition and other things too. The societies like Chandigarh Horse Riders Society and the events like Chandigarh Horse Show are bringing revolutions in the modern so-called digital or information age to bring back the cultures, morals, fitness (physical and spiritual).
The Chandigarh Horse Show, held in The ranch in Mullanpur, which is a carnival according to the hosts, has several teams from all over the country. Some significant contributions in Chandigarh Horse Show as participants to promote the events and vibes of horse riding are the teams from the Indian Navy, Chandigarh Police, Haryana Police, Gurgaon Horse Club. Buddha Dal School Patiala and Vardinand Horse Academy, and many others too participated in the Horse show. All the teams are very devoted to their contribution.
