After discharging from the Mohali Hospital on Sunday, Milkha Singh was isolated and with the oxygen support at his home. He was suffering from covid-19. On Thursday afternoon, he admitted to PGIMER with dipping levels of oxygen. In the last month 91 years old Milkha Singh was affected by the Coronavirus.
Sikh Milkha Singh is a well-known person, and he was the former champion of the commonwealth games as well as he was Rome Olympian in 1960. It is said that he faced an oxygen dipping level and was admitted on Thursday to Nehru Hospital Extension at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).
The wife of Milkha Singh, Nirmal Kaur, is in ICU with fluctuating oxygen states at Mohali Hospital. At that time, the talented athletics 91-year-old Milkha Singh was also hospitalized at Mohali Hospital. He was staying there for six days, then he discharged.
Milkha Singh was tasted positive for Covid-19 at their sector 8 residence on the last month of 19th May. He was suffering from diarrhoea, dehydration, and less oxygen level; he was admitted to Mohali Hospital on 24th May.
After discharging from Mohali Hospital, Milkha Singh was in isolation and with oxygen support at his home. On Sunday last week, he faced some major health issues again. And on Thursday afternoon, he was admitted to PGIMER with the dipping levels of Oxygen level. Ashok Kumar, said, The official spokesperson of PGIMER, Prof. “Flying Sikh Milkha Singh has been admitted in ICU in Covid Hospital of PGIMER at 3.35 pm. Today due to dipping levels of oxygen. HE has been kept under observation and is stable now”.
Before Milkha Singh was admitted to ICU at the Mohali Hospital, he was shifted to the normal room, and his wife Nirmal Kaur was there with him. Last week, she was also tested positive for Covid-19. At that time, her health condition was not so well. ON 26th May, Nirmal Kaur was shifted to the ICU room of the Mohali Hospital due to Covid Pneumonia. Milkha Singh’s daughter Dr Mona Singh is also a doctor; she works in the covid ward in Metropolitan Hospital in New York. She returns to India and assists doctors at that hospital to fast recovery of her parent’s health.
Nirmal Kaur was a former volleyball captain; she was admitted to ICU in the last week for increasing the oxygen support, then her health situation was getting stable there. On Thursday, it was visible in the medical bulletin, “Mrs Milkha Singh Continues to be in ICU with fluctuating oxygen requirement”. As we know that MIlkha Singh is an iconic character, everyone admires him. People love him so much for his kind presence and his contribution to the country. On Tuesday, Jeev told the Indian Express that, “While my father remains on oxygen support at our home, my mother is in ICU at Mohali Hospital. It’s been a tough time for the family, and we are hopeful that both my parents will pull through this”.
