The Communication Minister of India, Ashwini Vasihnaw, inaugurated the first 3d printed post office on 18 August in Bengaluru. The post office structure is completed by L & T construction in Cambridge layout. Halasuru, and use the 3D concrete printed technology. The 1000-square feet halasuru post office was designed and finished by L & T Construction (Larsen and Toubro). They used innovative technology to design it and set a timeline of 45 days only for this.
Who designed the 3D-printed post office?
As we tell you, L& T Construction designed the structure for the 3D-printed post office. The spirit of developing own technology, the spirit of development, the spirit to do something impossible, features it most, said Vaishnaw
L & T said in April that this printing technology got approved by the Building Materials and technology promotion council. The post office structural design was validated by IIT Madras and said that the post office building 3d printing is cast at the job site ” in situ” and in an ” open to sky” environment by using an automated 3d printer
What is 3d concrete printing
3d printing is more beneficial than conventional construction methods. 3d printing employs the robotic arm to layer the concrete mixtures. These mixtures are associated with unique features for versatile applications and quick drying.
This technology is divided into two main systems, first is a robotic arm that dispenses the mixture according to designed plans, and the system is a gantry-based system that uses expansive cranes for printer horizontal mobility. In the post office project case, the robotic arm is used to execute the 3d printing process, whereas the skilled worker regulates the pace at which the mixture is channeled.
Proud moment for #India! The first 3D printed #PostOffice at #Cambridge_Layout, Bengaluru, showcases our innovation and self-reliance. Hats off to the hardworking individuals behind this remarkable achievement. 🇮🇳🏣 #IndianInnovation #AatmanirbharBharat #3DPrintedPostOffice pic.twitter.com/flhBCePdDS

This use of human expertise and advanced technology is propelling the construction industry into a new world of efficiency and innovation.
How does 3d concrete printing improve quality?
As per L & T, 3d concrete printing is one of the best-emerging technology that has the ability to transform construction practices by making it quick and improving quality. 2 years ago, Nirmala Sitharman, Finance Minister, inaugurated the first 3d printed house in India and constructed it on the IIT Madras campus by Tvasta Manufacturing Solutions. She recommended using this technology to boost affordable housing in India under PMAY ( Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana). The two-story 3d printed dwelling unit are also inaugurated by the Indian army at Ahmedabad cantt.
How much time the 3d printing post office takes to construct
The Union minister inaugurated the post office from the general post office building. It was completed in 43 days, 2 days ahead of the timeline. The construction of the 3d printing post office is done by L & T Limited. They also take support from IIT Madras and guidance from the Building Technology and Construction Management division, professor manu Santhanam, and the civil engineering department.
Conclusion
Bengaluru presents a new picture of India by constructing the 3d printing post office building. This construction is carried out by 3d concrete printing technology and improves the quality.
