The former president of the Punjab Congress, Navjot Singh Sidhu, may be released from Patiala central jail on Saturday. According to the Times of India, A tweet came from his account on Friday related to this matter.
The counsel for Navjot Sidhu, HPS Verma, said that he is expected to release from central jail by tomorrow, 1 April.
At Central Jail Patiala, the jail authorities do not confirm these releases till now and said that they do not get the release orders.

Sidhu worked as a clerk inside Patiala central jail during his imprisonment. He is not agreed to meet incumbent congress president Amarinder Singh raja warned some months ago while his visit.
Earlier, the release of Sidhu from jail was expected on Republic Day under the Scheme of Center’s Amrit Mahotsav because he completed his 66 % sentence with good conduct.
Preparation for Sidhu’s welcome after the release
in Patiala, the supporters of Sidhu made preparations for his welcome, but he was not released, for which some congress leaders, including Shamsher Singh Dullo, have condemned the state government for not releasing him in spite of good conduct reason.
On 20 May, Sidhu surrendered before the trial court and was sent to Patiala central jail. A day earlier, the supreme court declared him to undergo one-year imprisonment in 1988 for road rage in which the elder men died fist blow.
A special diet is recommended to Sidhu.
Later, Sidhu sought a special diet provision from the court because he faced health issues, including liver ailment and embolism. According to the board of directors, Sidhu’s health is examined, and suggests a special diet.
Last year, Sidhu make complain with jail authorities, when his canteen card was misused by co inmates. He gives his canteen card only to get the special diet that is suggested by the board of directors.
What happens after Sidhu’s complaint
The inmate was shifted after a complaint was filled by Sidhu. The former DCC president of Patiala, Narinder Verma Lali, who was out from the party last year by Raja Warring 6 years, said that we made preparations for Sidhu to do his warm welcome. On republic day, we did preparations and installed near about 250 hoardings in the city.
But officials of Patiala Municipal Corporation removed all welcome posters and hoardings on 26 January.
The DCC Patiala president, Naresh Duggal, said that we had not gotten messages from the high command party in Punjab related to the welcome of Sidhu or his release from jail.
