As per a statement on Tuesday, the Chakki Mor near Shimla Chandigarh highway will close for maintenance. The Chakki Mor will closed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Friday, the National Highway- 5 was blocked because of a landslide near Nigulsari in district Kinnaur. A part of the highway was damaged because of a landslide.

How many people were affected due to the Shimla landslides?
The incessant rains in Himachal Pradesh cause multiple cloudbursts and landslides in various places. As per officials, in rain-related incidents during monsoon season, around 400 people have lost their lives, and more than 13,000 houses have been damaged. Provision will be given in the form of two or three-room sets to people on rent. Moreover, instructions are also issued to the Deputy commissioner in this aspect.
How much the maintenance costs
In the meeting, the chief minister, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, said that a budget of 10 crore is released to maintain roads that are damaged due to the incessant rains in Shimla. He directed people to complete work on damaged highways, walls, roads, etc., in Shimla.
