On Tuesday, the Supreme Court passed the orders to ban the firecrackers consisting of barium. Firecrackers consisting of barium are not only from the Delhi- NCR region but in all states that suffer from the worst air pollution, according to the news agency. Top court orders on firecrackers
Earlier, in October 2018, the top court directed people all over the country to only burst firecrackers from 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali and festivals only. The court allows manufacturers only to sell “green crackers” that have low emissions of sound, light and harmful chemicals. It means the court passed an order that people only need to burst the crackers that cause less pollution.
It carved out exceptions for New Year and Christmas Eve and said firecrackers on these festive days burst between 11:55 pm and 12:30 am because these occasions are celebrated at midnight. It banned the sale, manufacture and use of firecrackers and says that it caused the huge noise, air, and waste problems.
Banned on crackers applied to all states
According to PTI, the Supreme Court heard the application filed in a petition to ban firecrackers completely. The application gives directions to the Rajasthan government to take steps to check sound and air pollution and pose a ban on firecrackers during Diwali and weddings in Udaipur. This application to ban firecrackers is specially passed to the Rajasthan government for Udaipur city.
While keeping the application pending, the bench also said that there were no orders that needed to be passed in the application because the court already passed many orders to check sound and air pollutants in our environment. These orders bind every state, and state government should note that the ban on firecrackers is not for Diwali only but thereafter also.

From the news source, it has come to know that a bench of MM Sundresh and AS Bopanna asked the Rajasthan government to follow the directions on bursting crackers on Diwali. It shows that they want the Rajasthan government to support them in it and make proper control of firecrackers containing barium.
They also said that people need to be aware of the harmful effects of firecrackers that they burst during Diwali. Unfortunately, nowadays, children do not burst crackers, but elders do.
