More than 4,000 skaters from 27 different states and territories will compete in twelve different competitions. Chandigarh, the host state, will send 254 skaters, followed by Andhra Pradesh (368 skaters), and Tamil Nadu (336 skaters).
Event planning for the tournament is overseen by the Indian Roller Skating Federation (RSFI). The roller hockey and in-line hockey competitions will be held at Sector 10 Skating Rink and Sector 7, respectively. Sector 17’s Skate Park will play home to the freestyle and skateboarding events. The alpine and downhill skating competitions will take place at Morni Hills in Panchkula.
Artistic and Roller Derby competitions in Chennai are scheduled to take place from December 15th to the 25th. A total of 141 skateboarders from a wide range of ages have entered, including over 40 representing the para-skate category.
A strong showing from the North Eastern states is evident, as Ladakh sends a delegation for the second year in a row and debuts with an in-line hockey team.
People from all across the country come to us to skate. In a statement, RSFI president Tulsi Aggarwal said that the northeast is seeing a meteoric rise in roller sports participation, with Ladakh and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands also contributing significantly.
Tamil Nadu dominated the cadet boys’ roller hockey competition, taking home the league titles in both games. Their strong efforts earned them victories against Kerala (3-0) and Punjab (2-1).
The boys’ roller hockey cadet division had a full schedule of games scheduled for the day. Maharashtra stunned Telangana with a 6-4 win, while Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh played to a 2-2 draw.
While competing in Chandigarh for the first time on Monday, the Ladakhi sub-junior boys’ inline hockey team had a hit-or-miss record in the 61st National Roller Skating Championship.
When the Ladakh lads played their first league games, the outcomes were all over the map. Their first encounter was a 0-7 loss against Punjab, who were a formidable opponent. The group bounced back from the setback and defeated Telangana in their next encounter by a score of 3-2.
With a 4-0 victory over Jammu & Kashmir, Chandigarh dominated the championship match. Even though it was just a 1-0 final, the Haryana boys prevailed in a hard fought match against Kerala.
The inline hockey and roller hockey events will be held at Sector-10 Skating Rink and KBDAV School in Sector 7, Delhi, by the Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI).
By a margin of three wickets, Kurukshetra Cricket Association triumphed against JK Cricket Academy in the first Arun Sharma Memorial Cricket Tournament. With 247 runs scored in the 40th over, JK Academy went ahead. Posting 253 was the response from the Kurukshetra team. In the second match, Hansraj Cricket Academy defeated Mahajan School of Cricket Academy.
Three local players—Sehar Nayar, Savir Sood, and Vikas Nayar—came out on top in the Northern Squash Championship that was held in New Delhi. Sehar of Vivek High School won the under-17 girls’ championship. Sood from Delhi Public School won both the men’s under-17 and men’s over-50 divisions of the Vikas. When it came time for the girls’ U-11 final, Swara Trehan of Strawberry Fields took first place.
