Panchkula girl Anupama Upadhyaya has attained a great slot in the country in recent rankings of women’s singles of BAI, Badminton Association of India.
She is an 18-year-old shuttler girl and now becomes national badminton champion by winning the Inter-Zonal, 75th Inter-State, and 84th Senior National Badminton Championships in Pune.

Anupama Upadhyaya is the next suave and svelte girl door and shuttler that represents India. She turned 18 last month. When she was 17, she already coveted the National women’s badminton championship under her belt.
She has also skyrocketed to centre stage of the National badminton scene by achieving gold at the 84th senior national badminton championship. Anupama ranked fourth position before the national championship. While achieving this rank, she defeats the Gujarat National Games Champion, Aakarshi Kashyap, in a neck-and-neck final. Aakarshi took the 20-22 first set, but Anupama played and bounced back cleverly to claim the other two, 21-17 and 24-22 and register herself for victory.

In the BWF Badminton World Federation rankings, Anupama ranked at the 71st position by gaining 17,750 points from 9 matches. She is currently in Thailand to become part of the Thailand challenge. The president of the Haryana Badminton Association, Devendra Singh, also announced the cash prize of 5lakh rupees and awarded the state player with it. She also participated in the first-ever senior championship in Delhi last year.
On Thursday, the BAI issued the new completion rankings of national championships. In the previous month, she was ranked in the 62nd position according to BWF rankings.
